This is how Loic Bruni won the World Championships
Loic Bruni's maiden win
At the end of the 201 season Loic Bruni finally fulfilled his potential by winning the World Championships in Vallnord, Andorra.
It was probably the most popular result possible with the entire mountain bike community rising to congratulate the affable young Frenchman. This video takes you behind the scenes of that famous result.
The video contains some great scenes such as Loic Bruni seeing his custom World Champs bike for the first time. Loic always runs chrome bars so when he saw the full chrome bike he described it as “almost perfect”.
It’s also great to see the moment he finally realises he’s won the race and the entire finish area erupts – even members of other teams rushed to congratulate him.

The podium was rounded off by Greg Minnaar in second place and Josh Bryceland in third place. The women’s World Championships were won by Rachel Atherton.
We don’t know what the future will hold for Bruni but now his first win is behind him he’s sure to push on to bigger and better things. We can’t wait for the first round of the UCI downhill to roll around in Cairns in April.
