Red Bull Rampage moved forward to Friday
Bad weather to blame
The Red Bull Rampage has been moved forward from Saturday to Friday October 16. This means it will now be streamed at 17:30 tomorrow.
Due to forecasted heavy rains and thunderstorms, the organisers were worried that the competition would be unsafe come Saturday. Although this may mean a frustrating clash with jobs and school for us in Britain, it’s definitely not worth risking the rider’s safety on this crazy event. You can see just how insane it is from Claudio Caluori’s helmet camera preview here.
This means that riders will have shorter time to practice but seeing as most of them have lines from last year, this is less crucial than it might have been.
Red Bull said: “The Red Bull Rampage schedule has changed to ensure the best and safest possible conditions for both competitors and spectators.”
This year’s competition promises to be more spectacular than ever. Not only is it the tenth edition of freeride’s premier event, but this year has seen a massive jump in freeride progression thanks to the Fest Series.
British hopes lie in the hands of Brendan Fairclough, Bernard Kerr and Sam Reynolds, all of whom will be hoping to qualify for Friday’s finals later this evening.
