Another Raw 100 music-less video: Bas van Steenbergen thundering in the forest
Just riding. Fast.
Just riding. Fast.
We love these Raw 100 vids. This one featuring Bas van Steenbergen razzing in British Columbia woodland pares everything back. Tyre rumble in the jungle.
The visuals may not mega flashy, like some episodes of Raw 100, and the idea of the film is not particularly high concept or anything but it’s arguably all the better for that.
Perhaps the best thing about this video is the sound recording. The rumble and ‘whoomf’ noise from van Steenbergen’s tyres sounds fantastic.
Best bit? The jump at 26secs followed by the whoomf landing and Bas rumbling off at speed away from camera. Magnificent.
Red Bull (yes, them again): “Raw 100 is a video series designed to highlight the talent and creativity of filmmakers. It’s said that simplicity is the ultimate sophistication, and this series celebrates that idea.
“The rules for each video are simple: 100 seconds in length, no slow motion footage, and no music. By having to work within these limitations, filmmakers have to get creative and think outside the box.
“In this Raw 100, Liam Mullany delivers a video featuring Bas van Steenbergen ripping through British Columbia that will leave you chomping at the bit to hit the trails.”
