Urge updates the Endur-O-Matic helmet
Thankfully the kooky visor remains
With its distinctive, circular-holed visor, the original Endur-O-Matic certainly caught our attention when it was released back in 2009. But it’s been six years since that radical design was unveiled, so Urge has decided it is time for an update and that’s why they’re bringing out the creatively named Endur-O-Matic 2.
The design remains similar, and the distinctive hole remains, but Urge has made a number of technical changes to bring the helmet up to date.

In terms of safety, the Endur-O-Matic 2 extends further down the back of the head to provide extra coverage. Urge has also used a 4 shell, butterfly cage design which it believes offers better impact absorption.
Urge has also increased the amount of vents. Although the helmet looks pretty solid, there are actually 28 vents stuffed into it, Urge is hoping this will keep your head cool on long enduro runs.
Finally, Urge has upped the eco-friendliness of the Endur-O-Matic. It’s now made from recycled automotive plastic, even the straps are recycled. It’s not something we’ve ever considered before when looking at helmets, but it’s certainly a nice touch.

The helmet has a claimed weight of 349 grams, which is relatively heavy for a premium mountain bike helmet, and will come in S/M or L/XL. Expect it to cost upwards of £100.
