The XP100 does have an excellent finish, but the shell is a single piece and doesn’t wrap under the bottom of the helmet and the EPS is very thin and flexy, especially at the rear. Three forward vents get anti-insect mesh; a nice idea, but is this ever a problem? The moulded visor is a good size but it’s fixed in position. A dial-adjusted IAS 3D retention system means the XP100 fits heads between 55-60cm, plus it’s height adjustable by about an inch.
The XP100 is the lightest helmet on test and well priced, but the main reason for the average score is that it just feels too fragile.
