Numerous helmet manufacturers have tried to emulate the classic Troy Lee D2 design, and while some come close, none have been able to capture its perfect balance of style and function. An increased percentage of fibreglass and less carbon in the Composite D2 pushes the weigh up to 1,134g, and while it isn’t the lightest lid on test the D2 is definitely in the ballpark. Yes, it’s expensive and you could even argue that it’s overpriced, but the D2 is still the best fitting full-face helmet ever made so we feel it’s worth the extra dosh.
