Rummage through any mountain bike guide’s pack and there is a good chance you will find one of these. Bigger and heavier than most of the mini-pumps on test here you might be tempted to dismiss it straight away, but get down to the business of inflating tyres and you won’t look back.

With a flip out footplate, gauge and T-handle , it basically opens into a mini-track pump, with all the ease of inflation you would expect. A good pump for the weak wristed.
The quality is all you would expect from Topeak, with a butted aluminium body, hard plastic head on the end of a flexible 230mm hose, soft-feel Kraton rubber on the T-handle and an amazingly accurate gauge. It’s a no-brainer if you tend to puncture regularly.
