TOG 24 Bamboo Charcoal jersey review
West Yorkshire-based ski gear manufacturer, TOG 24, has broadened its horizons with a brand new range of men’s and women’s bike clothing. We put the women’s bamboo charcoal T-shirt through its paces in some of the hottest weather the UK has seen for years.
Yes, you did read that correctly — there really are tiny particles of bamboo charcoal embedded in the fabric of this T-shirt. Amazingly, they stop the build up of nasty-smelling bacteria. And while this might sound a bit far-fetched, it works surprisingly well — even after a long day in the scorching sun, our sample smelt good enough to wear again the next day. Not only that, but it’s very breathable, wicks away sweat in the blink of an eye, and dries quickly, too.
Fit-wise, the size 10/12 we tested came up large for our size-10 female tester, but she loved the ventilation of the deep zip at the neck, the lightweight fabric and low-cut collar. There’s the added benefit of UV protection, too. A pretty good buy for under £25.
