An old favourite that remains unchanged apart from head construction, which Jungle, the importer, reckons is cast then machined. This is bonded to a 7075 series aluminium shaft, which at 350mm minimum is a good length for low-slung frames or tall riders that need more extension. Originally the hole in the end allowed you to slot the post and saddle through a D-lock but it’s now a trademark more than anything else. Clamp set-up is much easier — the head parts don’t all fall apart — since Syncros has included a small clip between the lower clamp and shaft. There aren’t many sizes available and the length means it does weigh a bit, but the Syncros is better value than ever and a quality mid-ranger.
