Designed with Bike Fit innovator Andy Pruitt, they are primarily marketed at roadies, but I’ve used them for years in flat pedal shoes and find they can stop feet from ‘clawing’ over, or going numb on rough descents and long rides.

Three different arch and metatarsal button heights are offered to match feet and optimise hip, knee and foot alignment.

Ideally, you’ll need to pop into a Specialized shop to determine the right foot contour for maximum benefit, but once chosen, they really help reduce fatigue.

They also don’t rot and last ages, so can easily be switched between different shoes.

Aside from the extra comfort, the footbeds also make you feel more stable and planted on the bike, so whether or not you get sore feet, they’re well worth checking out, especially as they’re only £20 a pair.
