Salomon’s ClimaPRO fabric is very breathable in its own right, but in the way it’s been incorporated into the Speed jacket, the Air Vent system gives frankly amazing performance. Rather than adjustable pit zips, mesh panels are used under the arms and a large ‘flap’ air-vent system is used on the back. When used with a wide trail-pack this loses its edge slightly, but the breathability is still top notch.
The construction quality is up with the best jackets on test, and the natty wrist window makes it possible to keep tabs on the time, (or position or heart rate — dependant on your wrist jewelry), only the addition of extra pockets would improve marks.
