POW may stand for prisoner of war or POW! or be inspired by Roy Lichtenstein’s ‘Sweet Dreams Baby’. Who knows, but what we do know is that these grips feature a criss-cross ‘chain-link fence’ pattern. It’s primarily for looks but like all ODI grips the profile is slim and comfortable, even with bare hands. The flange means these grips are intended for BMX use but there’s nothing stopping you fitting them to a trail bike and chopping away some of the rubber. And if you use Dual Control you won’t even have to do that because the shifter doesn’t interfere with the grip.
We stuck our test grips on with WD40 but we’d like to see some grooves for zip-ties or wire for a more permanent fix. Mid value and a good shape, but where’s the Lock-On version?
