Despite not having an ounce of stretch fabric thanks to impeccable tailoring, the Alp-X fits exceptionally well — especially when in the saddle. Pre-shaped sleeves are particularly good, offering a close fit without restriction. The outstanding feature, however, is the venting panel. Opening the storm flaps up-front exposes a full length of fine mesh that offers a very pleasant through-flow, even when crawling up hills.
Top all this with a big rear pocket, waterproof-zippered Napoleon pocket and reflective piping to show your outline. Gore have come up with a top performer.
