The Race Face Next is closely related to the test winning sixC, but is it as good?
Race Face Next 35 Handlebar review
Little brother to the Race Face SixC 35 bar that won our Control Panel test in the May issue of the magazine, the Next riser bar shares the same profile, 35mm clamp size and price tag. It’s also made from uni-directional carbon and is available with 10 or 20mm of rise.

What sets it apart from the SixC 35 bar, however, is that, at 189g, it’s 32g lighter. The main reason for the weight saving is that it’s also 40mm narrower.
Now you’re probably thinking, why not just get the SixC 35 bar and cut it down to 760mm? While there’s nothing stopping you from doing just that, it wouldn’t offer anything like the same weight saving.

That’s because it’s the central portion of the SixC 35 bar that has been reinforced to handle the extra leverage of the full 800mm width, so chopping 20mm of each end would hardly register on the scales.
The point being, if you want the great profile and resilience of the SixC 35 bar but don’t need the full-blown 800mm width, the Race Face Next 35 is a better option for trail riding.
The only catch is that you need a stem with a 35mm clamp to run it.
