In November’s issue of MBR we announced a competition to win one of three Silva Singletrack lights worth £299.99. To win, all you had to do was send us your favourite night-riding photo.
All three photographers whose work appears below will receive a Singletrack light, and the overall winner — as voted for by you in the poll at the bottom of this page — will also receive a special extra prize.
“This was shot on one of my local bridleways nick named The Blue Pig Descent,” says photographer Andy Spencer, from Hebden Bridge, West Yorks. “The trail crosses a road, which Matt was jumping off. Car headlights and three off-camera flash guns help illuminate the shot. The image is built up from two shots, one at slow shutter speed for the light trail and the other at fast shutter speed to catch the action.”
“Caelab Drummond and I had been shooting at this track, Redwoods, since earlier that day,” says Jimmy Wright of Nelson, New Zealand. “We were both still keen to shoot as the light faded, and this was this the result. There were no lights involved (apart from my flashes) so Caelab was pretty much riding blind.”
This photo comes courtesy of Ian Butler. But all we know about it is that one of these people is Jim Dennis.
