Love from all over the mtb world
This morning Steve Peat had some big news for all of us
Yep if you hadn’t heard, Peaty has called it a day on his downhill racing career. He leaves behind a legacy spanning over 25 years of racing, 17 World Cups and one World Championship.
He is widely regarded as a legend of the sport and the mountain biking community came out in force to wish him the best in his future adventures. Here are the best tweets about the big man’s big day:
Cut Media
Cut Media did an amazing job on Peaty’s announcement video. the Norwegian landscape they picked perfectly portrayed the adventurous nature of mountain biking. Cheers is another stone-cold classic from the guys behind Danny MacAskill’s The Ridge.
The UCI
Peaty and the UCI haven’t always had the smoothest of relationships (just remember the #notatradeteam debacle from last year) but they still were happy to wish Peaty well on his way.
The Forest of Dean
The Forest of Dean put together this awesome montage of Peaty through the ages. Some great memories in this.
Ride for Michael
Steve Peat has been heavily involved in the Ride for Michael charity and they clearly appreciate it.
The fans
Wherever Peaty is in the world he will always have the support of the mountain biking community. It’s testament to how genuine and likeable he is that so many people wished him well. Here are our favourites.
From those who’ve met him…
…To those that simply wanted to pass on their congratulations:
And one from us, of course
Cheers, Peaty!
