The Crud Catcher still offers massive mud protection, is lightweight and very well priced. It’s evolved over the years and now has a soft nose so it can butt right up against the fork crown without fear of the dials breaking it or bashing it off centre. It comes with two rubber bands that are often fiddly to fit but they’re reusable and, at a stretch, will even fit the massive down tube on an Orange 5. The Crud Catcher can also be bolted to the frame if you have the bosses installed. The original and still the best.
