Once again, riders will compete in downhill, 4 cross and cross country in front of a crowd most riders rate as the best in the world. Organisers expect more than 20,000 spectators over the long weekend, watching the best 500 riders in the world from 35 countries.
Spectators have an added incentive to attend this year with the chance to see Olympic cross country medal contenders destined for the Beijing Olympics. Mike Jardine, event organiser from Rare Management, said: “We’re noticing a real buzz around the event this year and demand for tickets is already strong. We want to build on the success and growing appeal of mountain biking throughout the country and we’re confident our British contenders will help us to reach record numbers this year.”
