CCTV footage released of robbers
A man has released this footage of two thieves who stole a mountain bike and a motor bike from his garage.
Nick Bond, of Halstead in Essex, captured the criminals in the act at 5:30am on March 5 on his personal security cameras and is hoping that releasing the footage will help him recover his stolen goods.
The bike was an orange Cannondal Jekyll with a lefty fork, so it should be pretty distinctive and hopefully can be found quickly. The thieves also took his black MZ Baghira motorbike, worth about £2,500.
The footage shows the men breaking into Mr Bond’s Alfa Romeo, although the footage of them actually getting into it is cut, and then returning a few seconds later to break into his garage.
Mr Bond told the Clacton and Frinton Gazzette: “The two youngish men were in their 20s and were both white. The taller one had the beginnings of a beard. They stole the key fob from my Alfa Romeo and with that opened the garage. It could be that they had copied the key frequency that I used – they have many ways of getting into cars.”
Mr Bond thinks that he was specifically targeted and that the thieves knew what they were looking for. The items are insured but he believes it is not worth paying the excess.
