What is a torque wrench you may be asking? (Why have you clicked to open this deal then I wonder… Hmm) Anyway. A torque wrench is a tool that makes a noise and/or deliberately ‘slips’ when you have reached a desired tightening force.

The classic example is stem bolts, which always seem to be designed specifically around a tightening force of 5 Nm. Which is nigh on impossible to judge accurately by hand. So, use a torque wrench and you can be sure that you’re not under- or over-tightening anything. Over-tightening can be just as bad as under-tightening by the way.
