The Five Ten Freerider Contact is a version of the Freerider VXi. Smooth rubber section across the middle of the sole now extends further for improved grip.

First impressions of the shoe?
Shoes look good. Black with some green on them. They look good on the bike and I don’t look like a skater.
How is the fit of the shoe – ie narrow, wide, normal etc?
Shoe is wide in the toe and holds the ankle in place perfectly. I do have wide feet and these give me no issues at all.
How stiff is the sole?
Very.
What is the retention system (laces, BOA dial etc), and how has it performed thus far?
Laces have been fine. Good length.
How are the shoes off the bike for walking etc?
They are fine for hike a hike situations. A little stiff for just walking around though.
Performance and durability – how long have you had these shoes? Which features are good/bad, and how well have they stood up to use?
These shoes have been amazing in regards to sticking to the pedal. I rarely come off the pedal and at times they are almost too sticky. They are wide enough for my wide flat feet and the uppers seem to not wear at all. They are simple to clean and dry quickly.
The only issue I have had is after 700 miles or so the sole is starting to become unglued from the shoe which is going to force me to buy a new pair after about a year of use.
