A superb all-rounder
Rab Spark jacket review
Rab has always been a master of combining light weight with maximum weatherproofing in its jackets, so we were expecting a lot of the Spark.
>>> The best waterproof mtb jackets
The Pertex Shield+ fabric was a good start — soft, waterproof and very breathable, with a touch of stretch built in.
We loved the fact that all entry points to the jacket were adjustable: cuffs closed by Velcro tabs, hem and collar with elastic cord adjusters.
The hood was perfect to pull over our helmets and a stiffened peak was helpful when wearing the jacket off the bike. We also appreciated the tab for rolling and securing it when not needed, too — other companies take note.
Most of all, the Rab was just a pleasure to snug up when the weather closed in. The long body was roomy for layering underneath if necessary and, along with the high collar, gave great coverage, while every draught could be sealed out at will with all those adjusters. The rest was clean and simple so it also packed down light and tight.
A superb all-rounder, on and off the bike.
