This week's wallet temptations
Due to the Bank Holiday Monday, Dirty Deals was postponed for 24hrs. But fear not, here it is finally.
There’s no theme to this week’s deals. It’s a vary varied selection that will hopefully will be of interest to the suitably broad spectrum of mountain bikers who visit our lovely website.
Low cost things, mid price things, pretty costly things, soft goods, hardware, essentials, luxuries, men’s stuff, women’s stuff… it’s all here. Have a delve!
Camelbak Kudu 12 hydration pack – £129.99 – £74.99
The Kudu was launched at the height of enduro fever and it was possible a little bit too over-featured, not to mention overpriced, for your average mountain biker. It’s a lengthy pack that doesn’t have as much width to it. It’s also quite low-flush on your back.
Plenty of storage. Nice sidewing pockets – super handy. Plenty of external stowage. Easy to cinch down. Suitably jazzy colourways.
Features such as the (removable) back protector pad and built-in toolwrap may be seen as overkill and unnecessary but you can easily remove the former and we reckon you’ll actually grow to love the latter.
You can pick up a Kudu with a pleasing 42% discount, that’s £74.99!
Park Tool PCS-9 repair stand – £114.99 – £79.99
It’s oft said but we’ll say it again, using a proper work stand makes working on your bike several thousand times easier and more efficient. Stop turning your bike upside down and working with it on the floor!
The common tasks of indexing gears and bleeding disc brakes are worth the cost of getting a good repair stand on their own. The bare facts of the matter are that you’ll actually do better quality repairs and maintenance once you’re using a work stand. Get one.
This excellent first choice home repair stand is currently on offer with 30% off at £79.99!
Syntace Vector 7075 High20 780mm handlebar – £69.00 – £48.30
Syntace are not one of the brands that you immediately think of when you’re scratching around looking for a new handlebar, but they should definitely be on your list.
No nonsense, wide, strong, stiff, modest rise, modest 8° back sweep, good width (780mm), decent weight (326g), nice wide clamping area and let’s face it they just look a certain aesthetic don’t they? If they’ll suit your bike’s vibe – goferrit.
This nice ‘n’ wide bar is now for sale with 30% hacked off the price at £48.30!
