A matte brown and gold Plus-tyre bouncy beast with 130/150mm travel
ACV stands for Air Cushioned Vehicle in the world of military bods. So, essentially a type of go-anywhere hovercraft. Ahah – it makes sense now.
Carbon frame with 130mm rear travel using Intense’s usual VPP floating pivot design. Travel can be changed to 115mm with a flipchip in the (carbon) linkage.
How this travel adjust adjust alters the suspension feel and/or geometry is not stated. But we have one of the bikes under an mbr tester at the mo so all will be revealed in the mag soon.
>>> Intense Spider 275C Factory first ride
The frame is paired with a 150mm fork up front – Intense have always been keen on the bit-more-up-front mismatch vibe.
The ACV is a 27.5+ specific bike. It’s not an updated existing 29er design. Nor is it intended to be able to run 29er wheels in there (although we reckon you probably could).
We don’t have oodles of geeky engineery info to chew through. It’s Boost hubbed. It has internal cable routing. It’s 1x specific (no front mech provision).
With a 66.25 degree head angle, a 74 seat angle, 438mm chainstays and contemporary reach numbers (see geometry chart) it’s typically Intense; not pioneeringly slack or wowsers long. It’s Intense doing what they think is correct.
There are two builds available. No frame-only we’re afraid. The ACV Foundation is £4,099. The ACV Pro is £5,399. Both come in the matte gold/matte brown colourway.

NB: For the UK the ACV models will come with KS Lev droppers, not Reverbs as listed above.
Update: some more info from Intense
From Intense: “Fluctuating the tire pressure between 12-25 PSI adds another level of ride preference to the ACV. More undampened suspension and sidewall grip at lower PSI allows riders a smooth ascent through the rockiest of trails.”
