The domestic enduro racing season is well underway and we’ve had these awesome highlights beamed over from round one of the PMBA enduro from Gisburn.
This is a far cry from the glamorous world of the Enduro World Series, instead the tracks are gritty, sloppy and technical testing riders bike handling, fitness and perseverance. Gisburn looks to be a great venue for an enduro race though and the stages are comprised of a mix of fast trail centre style sections and fresh cut, boggy woods tracks.
The fact that stage one was nicknamed LoamMUDgeddon should tell you everything you need to know about the conditions, but that didn’t stop the riders from leaving with smiles on their faces.
Over 340 racers were signed up but it was Cotic’s James Swinden who took the win for the men with a time of 8:31.17 and Hope’s Rachel Walker for the women with a time of 11:30.63. Swinden was absolutely dominant in the men’s class taking the win on every single stage.
The PMBA series will now head to Grizedale, Lee Quarry, Kirroughtree, GNAR Bike Park and back to Grizedale where the series victor will be decided on October 2. For more information, or to enter one of the rounds, click here.
