The official Twitter account for Forest of Dean mountain biking has posted images of obstacles that have been placed on mountain biking trails in the forest.

The tweet said: “Why would people do this to hurt others? #mtb #dangerous #fodmtb” and showed a log balanced across a trail and branches placed behind it.

The obstacle was placed in the Cannop Valley area although we’re not sure on which trail (although from the picture it looks to be on an unofficial one). We also don’t know if there were any harmful intentions but we would warn you to keep an eye out if you plan on riding at the Forest of Dean this weekend.

The incident follows the arrest of Tineke Kraal, from North Vancouver, earlier this year. She was sentenced to three years probation and 150 hours of community service for placing traps on North Shore trails.

Kraal placed between 10 and 40 logs per day on the trails and was only arrested thanks to local riders setting up night vision video cameras to catch her in the act.
