Not satisfied with simply measuring your own performance on a ride? Well now your dog can become CoM (Canine of the Mountain) too thanks to G-Paws Track.

G-Paws Track is a GPS device that attaches to your pet’s collar and tracks its activities. It measures where your pet goes, how far it goes and its speed. You can then upload this data to the G-Paws website and then share it with friends.

At the moment there’s no way to directly compare your pet’s results, as you would do in Strava, but G-Paws is hoping to have this working before Christmas with the option to filter by similar breeds.

Another nifty feature is that the device records any encounters your dog might have with another G-Paws user so you can pursue any blossoming signs of puppy love.

The GPS device weighs only 14 grams  and is 3.5 centimetres long so shouldn’t be too much of a nuisance to your dog as it runs. The device has a claimed battery life of eight hours and can be charged through a computer or the mains.

The G-Paws Track costs £25 and is available from the G-Paws website.
