Here’s a Claudio Caluori course preview with a difference
Not quite as wild as normal
Not quite as wild as normal
Claudio Caluori is famous for ripping up some of the hardest downhill courses in the world. This year he’s taken on Mont-Sainte-Anne, Fort William, Val di Sole and many more as part of Red Bull’s World Cup coverage.
His latest course preview is something a bit different however. This time he’s been tasked with doing a course preview of the Cross Country Eliminator track for the XC World Championships in Vallnord, Andorra.
Cross Country Eliminator is a mix between four cross and cross country. Four riders line up and race a short track with the winner being whoever crosses the line first. A race will only last around a minute so it’s a far more spectator friendly sport than regular cross country.
It’s also clearly not Claudio’s speciality. While he is able to keep up with top downhill riders on his normal course previews, we don’t think it would be the same in this event. He struggles top even make it up one of the climbs!
The XCE course looks wide and simple, but it should be steep enough to test even the fittest riders. If you want to watch the event you can do so from 2:30pm on YouTube.
Claudio will surely return for a downhill course preview later in the week where he will hopefully feel a bit more at home.
