With a 15.5in inseam, the Campaign is on of the longest shorts that we have tested. It easily covers a set of kneepads, and with the cuffed legs and articulation, doesn’t flap around or ride up when you’re ripping.

Intrepid claims the short is made from a three-way stretch fabric — though we’ve counted twice and are convinced it’s four-way — but either way the short is super-comfortable to ride in. It’s a thick short, and weighty too, and while there are a couple of thigh vents to improve circulation, we did find it a bit too warm in hot weather.

Fleece-lined pockets are a neat touch

The Intrepid Campaign features an oversize fly zip with a double popper. The beefy waist adjusters have a good range of adjustment, but we wouldn’t want to land on those massive buckles in a crash. The fleece-lined hand pockets are a nice touch, although the large cargo pockets are a bit unnecessary.

For a baggy without a liner, the Campaign is expensive, but the build quality is excellent. Too hot for the summer, but for the rest of the year it’d be perfect.
