The Crank Bothers Candy 1 is super-light, but is it durable enough for our testers
Crank Brothers Candy 1 clipless pedal review
The action of all Crank Brothers pedals is extremely light, with a slight click on entry and even less feedback on exit. However, the force needed to release was too light for most of our test riders.

They are more familiar with the positive push-click release of Shimano, which leaves no room for doubt. That said, no one ever got stuck in the Candys, and there were few accidental releases, especially when the cleats were set to the maximum release angle (20°).
The light action and lack of adjustment makes us think this pedal would be ideal for clipless newcomers, who could either continue down the Crank Brothers line as time went on, or switch to another system if their riding became more aggressive.

We have had reservations about the bearing longevity on Crank Brothers pedals in the past, and while our test Candys are still running smooth, there is already a small amount of play in the axle.
