A very impressive, if expensive, trail pack
Mavic Crossmax Hydropack 15 review
As a very expensive trail pack, with an impressive design pedigree, we had high hopes for the Mavic Crossmax Hydropack 15.
The large hip belt and wide padded shoulder straps were easily cinched down to stabilise the load and, while there aren’t any compression straps up top, the stiff fabric and slim design keeps everything close to your back for stability. It was almost the best we’ve tested in this respect.

The deep opening rear tool compartment is excellent when it comes to delving around for gear, and there are plenty of mesh pockets to keep everything under control.
There’s a decent size main compartment and a well-proportioned internal fleece pocket that’ll accommodate even a large smartphone. There are zipped pockets on every strap, big enough for the odd gel, multitool or GPS.
