Following Josh Bryceland's maiden win last year, the Syndicate are back in Leogang for round 3 of the downhill World Cup
The Syndicate are on a roll after Greg Minnaar’s domination of Fort William and in this episode they hope to carry that momentum over the channel to Leogang in Austria.
Unfortunately the show was stolen by Aaron Gwin, who managed to win the race despite breaking his chain as soon as he left the gate. Instead of pedalling, Gwin was forced to tuck and pump to keep his momentum and managed speeds in excess of 50 km/h. For the Syndicate, Greg Minnaar came fifth and Josh Bryceland came seventh.
It is remarkable that the pros are so tuned into their bikes that they can feel unbalanced if too much sealant is used in their tyres (Here’s our own how to guide on how to go tubeless). Examples like this in the Syndicate video reveal the life of the mechanics; showing how hard they work to ensure their racers are getting the most from their bikes.

The Syndicate is a video that follows the Santa Cruz Syndicate racing team as they compete around the world. There is a new episode at each round of the World Cup circuit. Episode one was at Lourdes and episode two took us behind the scenes of Greg Minnaar’s win at Fort William.
In this episode, the crew also get a taste of Austrian hospitality, recuperation continues on their various injuries and they have to deal with a flooded pits.
The next round of the World Cup comes from Lenzerheide in Switzerland. The course was designed by Steve Peat so expect the Syndicate riders to do well, and for the next episode to follow shortly after.
