Single chainrings and cleaner lines for the British brand in 2015
Next year’s Whyte bikes are being transformed: single-chainring options, louder colour schemes and flashier builds. The T129 Works SCR shown here is just the beginning, sporting this lairy colour and designed for a single chainring only (hence the SCR tag). Whyte promises a stiffer ride, weatherproofed cable routing and some amazing build options — the Works SCR here will sell for around £3,000 with a Pike fork and 1x system.
- More of it: Whyte is adding an XL size
- Cleaner: Whyte has ditched the QR clamp and installed an integrated version instead. It should keep out the muck better than the old one.
- Sleeker: New cable and hose routing runs internally and is fully waterproofed with rubber grommets at the entry points.
- Wider: The main pivot is now 20 per cent wider than the 2x frames, so stiffer and more reliable, says Whyte.
Look out for a first ride in MBR soon.
