Something to watch
What else, the final race of the World Cup at Schladming, of course. Can Aussie Greg Minnaar keep his form together after winning in Canberra? Will Rachel Atherton take the women’s crown? You can watch both the DH and 4X action live from Friday evening on freecaster.tv.
Something for the family
Evans’s Ride It! series continues this weekend, with an offride ride on Saturday starting out from North London. Not a propitious start, you’d think, but the route quickly heads for the Lea Valley and then follows the river Lea before wandering through local trails, villages and woods. Three different length routes are available; 15 miles; 25 miles; and 35 miles and the trails are all marked out for you so there’s no danger of getting lost. Registration starts at 8am, go to www. Entry is £12.50, see Evanscycles.com for more details.
Something to ride
Ride from one end of the Isle of Man to the other this Sunday at the End 2 End Challenge. Organisers claim they’ve convinced Nick Craig, one-time Olympian, multi-winner of British Championships and numerous Merida events, to take part this year. The competition looks pretty strong, with sponsored riders a-plenty and entrants from the NPS series. The 75km route takes in 1500 metres of climbing and covers the usual array of fire roads, sweeping moorland paths, country lanes and forest singletrack. Entry costs £25, go to http://manxe2e.org/categories/view/3 for more details.
