Mid-Wales was absolutely made for mtb’ing, and almost any route in this region could be
described as a classic. This one stands out, though; not just for the riding, but also for the scenery, which is mouth-watering to say the least.
It’s a tough outing for its distance, not made any easier by a few awkward boggy patches on the descent of the Doethie. But any effort invested is handsomely rewarded with some wonderfully steep and technical climbs (the rocky track from Soar-y-Mynydd in particular); some rough-and-ready descending, and mile after mile of some of the finest natural serpentine singletrack known to man. If you can clean the rocky ravine section, you’re a better man/woman than us!
