High ankle coverage and plenty of padding mean this shoe is aimed squarely at the all-day all-mountain rider who is heading for hills and expects to be hoofing it from time to time. They were extremely comfortable right out the box and showed a decent amount of flex for walking in, without the pedalling efficiency being affected badly at all. With only small mesh panels they would be more suitable as a spring/autumn shoe in practice, and a nice wide lace retention strap keeps mud off the knot as well as adding a bit of bite to the retention system. The large padded tongue finishes off the comfort factor on what is an excellent trail shoe at a very reasonable price.
