Of the three overshoes on test the Northwave Pro Race are the only ones that let you uses toe studs, as the nose of the overshoe doesn’t really wrap too deeply around the underside of the shoe. This sounds good in principle but the flip side is that the toe of the overshoe rides up easily. On the first pair of Pro Race overshoes we received, the fit around the shoe upper was snug but the ankle portion was very loose. When we called the distributor we were told that we had an older version of the overshoe. The revised version has a much better fit around the ankle and the addition of a rubber toecap should help increase the Pro Races’ lifespan.
