All the seams are double stitched and taped for maximum waterproofing. Like all Gore-Tex products, the socks work best from new and you need to be careful how you wash them to keep the waterproof membrane active. The fabric is not very elastic and, as a result, the Gore-Tex socks don’t fit as well as the Specialized or SealSkinz socks and are harder to get on and off. We found the XL to be the best for a UK size 9 foot, and the long ankle section stops water spray from the front wheel penetrating. Not as comfortable as the SealSkinz but just as waterproof.
